John McCarthy

John McCarthy was a prominent computer scientist and cognitive scientist, widely recognized as one of the founding figures of artificial intelligence (AI). He coined the term 'artificial intelligence' in 1956 and organized the Dartmouth Conference, which is considered the birthplace of AI as a field. McCarthy developed the Lisp programming language, which became a standard tool for AI research.
